Andrea Krajina accepted a one-year position as
Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Mathematical
Stochastics, Georg-August-Universitaet, Goettingen, Germany. She'll
start September 1.
Mitja Stadje will be an assistant professor with Roger Laeven, UvT
from September 1.
Lihu Xu was invited to the University of Bonn for a 1,5 months visit.
From October 13 he'll be working as a
postdoctoral researcher at TU Berlin, with Professor Peter Friz. |

as a Consultant at Quintiq in Den Bosch.
October 12, 2010, Josine will defend her Thesis:
Inventory control in multi-item production systems |

September 16 2010, Markus Heydenreich will start as UD in STAR in
Leiden (60%) and CWI (40%).
Markus was granted a Veni by NWO. Markus Heydenreich uses
mathematical models to explain abrupt changes in physical systems

NWO offered Ingrid Vliegen a Rubicon Award to spend one year at The
Wharton School/The University of Pennsylvania, in the U.S.A.
She will visit this university for half a year from January 2011.

Jesim and Mandira Sarma are proud parents of their
adopted daughter Joya who came home on 26th April
2010. Joya is about one a half year old and in good
health and spirit. She is a very easy child and
feels very much at home with her new family. She is
cheerful, affectionate and playful. She is a bundle
of joy. |

"As you (maybe) already know I will leave EURANDOM
from June 1 for a new challenging job within the
Department of Biomedical Engineering of the
Eindhoven University of Technology.
Since it is impossible to say thanks to everyone in
person, I would like to say THANK YOU by this
message, for the pleasant collaboration over the
past years.
EURANDOM was a wonderful place to stay and with
great pleasure I took care of many workshops, guests
and seminars.
Never a boring moment with a great opportunity to
meet numerous interesting people from all over the
world.

Prof. dr. Harry van Zanten
(TU/e and EURANDOM) and
Prof. dr. Peter Grünwald
(CWI and UL and former postdoc at EURANDOM),
received the Van Dantzig Prize 2010. The Van
Dantzig Prize is awarded every five years by the
Dutch Vereniging voor Statistiek en Operationele
Research, to a young researcher who has a big impact
on today's developments in this field.
