Message from Marlies Brangers "Dear EURANDOM alumni, This is my last day at EURANDOM, which makes me a bit sad. But farewell always hurts. I have had a wonderful time here, thanks to you all. I will treasure the memories of you and of the institute for many years, I’m sure of that. It was great to work with you, we had so many discussions on numerous subjects, all so interesting, from bouillonblokje to the cover of your theses. I was invited to so many exotic countries, you all wanted to show me your country, as I tried to show you The Netherlands. I tried to teach you that you are now in The Netherlands and not in Holland, and you tried to teach me how to prepare some dishes, or why a visit to Israel is so much better than visiting Tunesia. I stayed in touch with you, by means of the annual birthday card, always a pleasure to get a reply in which I was informed about the sometimes new, and sometimes changed situation, as well in family as in work. You invited visitors that also became dear to me, especially those who came more often for a visit. EURANDOM to me felt like a warm family of which I felt like the mother. I’ll miss my children very much. My new job is not far in distance, but not close at the same time. Some of you already promised me to visit me at my new office when they return for a visit to EURANDOM. I wish you all a lot of happiness and success for the future, and hope to see at least some of you in future. Best wishes, Marlies"
